Welcome to Pre-Algebra!

Join our comprehensive Pre-Algebra course designed to build foundational skills necessary for middle school math success. Whether you're new to the concepts or need a refresher, this course covers essential topics to prepare you for higher-level math.

Class Structure

  • 5 minutes - Welcome and Introduction

  • 15 minutes - Content Teaching Session

  • 15 minutes - Guided Practice with New Concepts

  • 10 minutes - Independent Practice to Reinforce Learning

Throughout each session, engaging discussion questions stimulate critical thinking and help students relate to and understand each lesson.

Who Should Enroll?

Ideal for students aged 12 to 15 aiming to strengthen their pre-algebra skills. No prior knowledge is required; concepts are taught and reviewed comprehensively in class.

  • Introduction to the properties of real numbers, commutative and associative properties

    Distribute property, properties of identify, inverses and zero

    Solve equations using the subtraction and addition properties of equality and the division and multiplication properties of equality

    Solve equations with variables and constants on both sides, solve equations with fraction or decimal coefficients, review and assessment

  • Intro to geometry, solve money applications

    Use properties, triangles and the Pythagorean Theorem

    Solve geometry applications: circle and irregular figures, solve geometry applications: volume and surface area

    Solve formula for specific variable, review and assessment, add and subtract polynomials

    Use of multiplication properties of exponents
